FMCSA Oversight Requirements

In 2021, the Office of Inspector General issued a highly critical report of the FMCSA, concluding that the agency had not fully met its oversight requirements of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. In response, the FMCSA was instructed to fully implement medical examiner audits.

Medical Examiner Performance Monitoring and Auditing
